If it's a good match, we'll send you a proposal describing the terms, prices, and format that we would like to work with you in. If you like our terms, we'll sign a contract together. From there, we'll embark on a discovery phase that includes assessing the current state of your product and begin putting together a roadmap.
We have a few different pricing models depending on the type of help you need and the format of relationship that you are looking for. After the first couple of meetings with you, we'll send you a proposal. Most commonly we work with hourly retainers. Our level of support and responsiveness is a function of the tier of retainer.
It really depends on the product, but generally we recommend budgeting at least $125k to bring a product to production. We also recommend thinking about the ongoing cost of development once the product is launched.
Thoughtful is organized as a New York LLC. The team is 100% remote. Our team is spread globally with some members living in New York City, Denver, Tel Aviv, Toronto, Sao Paulo, and Florianópolis, to name a few of the top locations.
As a global team, we we don't really look at it as "onshore" vs "offshore". We have an international team and we hold everyone to the same standards regardless of their location. However, we understand that some clients strongly prefer to work with a team that's in the same country, and that's ok too. Because markets in the US and Canada are so competitive, our rates are higher in these locations.
It depends on the team member and what other projects they're working on. If we approve you to make an offer to one of our team members, we'd treat it like a recruiting agreement.
